Today Can Just Be Monday

A Let It Out comic about a Friday driving test taking over Monday, until the sloth gives practice a day, the what-ifs a time, and gets Monday back.

Comic · Issue 16

Five-panel comic: the Let It Out sloth holds a plate like a steering wheel at the breakfast table beside toast and a small peach toy car; pushes the toy car around a plate in the kitchen sink while thinking; holds up a small checklist card and drops lilac paper slips into a jar; then sits on a sunny garden step with tea and a book, the toy car parked beside it, followed by a Let It Out app call to action.
The complete story and its Let It Out call to action are built into the artwork.

The sloth's driving test is on Friday, but on Monday morning it is already behind the wheel, steering with a breakfast plate while the toast sits untouched. At the sink, a toy car goes round and round as the what-ifs do the same. The turn is splitting the two: the practice gets a day, Wednesday, and the what-ifs go in a jar for six o'clock. Then Monday gets to be Monday. This fictional everyday example illustrates separating preparation from worry before an upcoming event and postponing the what-ifs to a chosen time; it is not a tested treatment. The final panel is a Let It Out app call to action.

  1. Panel 01

THE TEST IS FRIDAY. IT'S MONDAY.

In a sunny kitchen, the sloth sits at a wooden table holding an empty plate up in both paws like a steering wheel, eyes wide and fixed ahead. A slice of toast sits untouched on another plate, a sage mug steams beside it and a small peach toy car waits on the table. The caption appears in a cream speech bubble.

  2. Panel 02

WHAT IF I STALL AT THE ROUNDABOUT?

At the kitchen sink, with the washing-up bubbles forgotten, the sloth rests its chin on one paw and looks worried while pushing the peach toy car around a plate. The caption appears in a cream thought bubble.

  3. Panel 03

PRACTICE ON WEDNESDAY. WHAT-IFS AT SIX.

Calmer now, the sloth smiles and holds up a small sage card with three tick boxes and squiggle lines, while dropping folded lilac paper slips into a glass jar with its wooden lid set to one side. The caption appears in a cream speech bubble.

  4. Panel 04

    TODAY CAN JUST BE MONDAY.

On a sunny garden step surrounded by flowers and plants, the sloth sits with eyes closed and a small smile, holding a steaming mug and an open book. The peach toy car is parked neatly on the step beside it. The caption appears in a cream speech bubble.

  5. Panel 05

    LET IT OUT

On a deep teal background with leaf motifs and small stars, the sloth holds a phone with its back visible beside the brand name LET IT OUT. The tagline reads: PUT IT DOWN. COME BACK WHEN YOU CHOOSE. The sage button reads: GET THE APP.
